Johanna is a DONA Certified Birth Doula and has been supporting birthing families since 2009. Her desire is to see families grow in confidence and joy as they experience nurturing doula care through birth and parenting.
Johanna grew up on a local farm where she began to learn about birth. She credits that time, having a mom who is a midwife, and having nurturing support during her own births, with drawing her to become a doula.
She and her family enjoy spending time at the farm and staying busy with her children's activities.

As a birth doula I ensure that you are well informed about your birth options and that you have the ability to communicate your questions and choices with your care providers. I use a variety of comfort techniques to help you relax and offer suggestions about position changes when needed to encourage labor progress.

As a postpartum doula I provide practical help, from supporting you in taking care of yourself and your newborn, to housework and meal preparation, to emotional encouragement and support.
